Founding Institutions
Founding Institutions: free Pro for schools and universities
Free Pro for 12 months for schools, colleges and universities that teach with OnlineCompiler.io. In return we ask to show your name and logo, a short quote and a link from a course page.
By the OnlineCompiler.io team. Updated .
Who is it for?
Schools, colleges and universities whose students already run code on OnlineCompiler.io: lab sessions, an LMS or course platform, graded assignments or exams. It is for institutions, not individual teachers' side projects or companies; those can use the Free or paid plans.
What do you get?
The Pro plan, free, for 12 months:
- 1,000,000 runs a month (Free has 100,000).
- 120 submissions a minute, 4 runs at once and 40 waiting at a time for the account.
- Everything else in Pro, as listed on the pricing page.
It is set on your existing account and ends on its date; no card is needed and nothing renews on its own.
What do we ask?
Within 30 days of the start, or the plan goes back to Free:
- Permission to show your institution's name and logo on this site.
- A short quote from someone who teaches with it, with their name and role.
- A link to OnlineCompiler.io from a course or department page.
Logos appear only while your institution is active in the program. Wherever they are shown we say: "Founding Institutions receive free access to OnlineCompiler.io."
How do you qualify and keep it?
- To qualify: 10,000 runs in 30 days, on the Free plan or a one-month Pro pilot. Our existing heavy users are offered places first.
- To keep it: 5,000 runs per term, judged term by term. Holidays do not count against you.
- If you fall below: we offer help first. If you are still below the next term, the account goes back to Free, the logo comes off the site and the place reopens. When the plan returns to Free, judged submissions older than Free's 90 days are deleted, and we email you 14 days before.
How many places are there?
25 worldwide, and at most 2 per country. Applications beyond the cap join a waiting list, and a place that reopens goes to the next in line.

Frequently asked questions
What happens after the 12 months?
The free Pro plan ends on its date and the account returns to the Free plan, unless you choose a paid plan yourself. When the plan returns to Free, judged submissions older than Free's 90 days are deleted, and we email you 14 days before. We do not promise a renewal. Nothing is charged automatically, because no card is taken.
Does it cost anything?
No. Pro is free for 12 months for institutions that are accepted. We ask for your name and logo, a short quote and a link from a course or department page in return.
Why must you show the logo and quote?
The program is an exchange: free access for a public mention. Wherever logos appear we say that Founding Institutions receive free access, so visitors know the arrangement.
What if we are below the usage numbers?
Apply anyway and say so. To qualify we look for 10,000 runs in 30 days, on the Free plan or a one-month Pro pilot. To keep the plan we look for 5,000 runs per term, and if you fall short we offer help first.
Do holidays count against us?
No. Usage is judged per term, so a break between terms does not count against you.
Is there a limit on how many institutions join?
Yes: 25 worldwide and at most 2 per country. Applications beyond that go on a waiting list, and a slot that reopens goes to the next one in line.
Is this for companies or bootcamps?
It is for schools, colleges and universities that teach with OnlineCompiler.io. Other organisations can use the Free plan or a paid one; see the pricing page.
